PHS Homecoming 2010

When Tripp was asked to be the crown bearer for Homecoming, of course the proud mom said "YES!" When I told Tripp about it he said, 'Well I guess if they need me, I will" He didn't really know what he was going to do or why it was such a big deal to me, but he had a blast once it got here. He got to ride in the Homecoming Parade on Thursday night and did his duty Friday night by delivering the crown to the queen. A couple that my dad graduated high school with also had a grandchild in the Homecoming court, she was a Senior maid (what a small world)! When I saw Tripp in his little tux, it made me think about how grown up he is getting. He is such a big man now!

A Ninja and A Pirate

We had to dress up a little early this year since Charlie and I will be attending a swanky Delta wedding during the weekend of Halloween. Since PHS had a fall carnival, we took advantage of getting our candy and riding the hay ride early. Tripp wanted to be a ninja and he was a very good one at that. My little Vaiden didn't really have a choice - his mama is a little partial to pirates.

Tripp is 7!

Wow! Seven years has passed so quickly and my baby is growing up! Continuing our yearly tradition, we had grandparents lunch at Fox's Pizza in Richland. Uncle Lanky got to be there this year, but Papa Sid didn't get to come as he was cruising in the Caribbean. Gavin spent the entire weekend with us and he and Tripp had a great time. We had Tripp's birthday party at Mac & Bones golf course in Pearl. Everyone loved getting to play putt-putt.

First Grade!

Tripp started first grade this year. He absolutely loves his teacher and has made a lot of new friends. He is doing great and making his parents very proud. I told him that he has to start making excellent grades now so that we can get accepted to Duke Medical School on a full scholarship!

Slugger

Tripp played baseball again this year and had a great season. He is such a hard worker and waits at the door for his dad to get home so they can practice. They had a really good season and hopefully next year their uniforms will not be white!

Vaiden turns 1

Vaiden turned 1 on June 10, 2010. He is growing into my big boy and has the cutest personality. Continuing the tradition that we started on Tripp's first birthday, we eat with all of the grandparents on their actual birthday. This year, we ate at Corner Bakery and had ocean cupcakes for dessert. For his party, we braved the heat and had a "small" family party. Some of us had to take a break in the air conditioning! Mrs. Teresa made a wonderful cake and Manner Jackson made some of her famous tea cakes.

Easter 2010

This Easter was so special because it was Vaiden's very first Easter. We dyed and hunted eggs, made resurrection cookies, took some family pictures, and ate lots of good food. We also got to spend some time with our families and friends. Vaiden was very unsure about the eggs, but loved tearing apart his Easter basket.

First Sippy!

Vaiden is now drinking juice out of a sippy cup. He holds it all by himself, but he will drink nothing but juice in there. Don't dare put any milk or formula or you will be sorry!

From Generation to Generation

My children are so blessed that they have three great-grandmothers that are still a part of their lives. On my side, my dad's mom, Geraldine Sandifer or Mamaw and on Charlie's side, his dad's mom, Patsy Jackson AKA Manner Jackson and his mom's mother, Norma Russell AKA Manner Russell. I consider each one of these wonderful ladies not only a blessing to my life, but how awsome that my kids are able to know and love them. (From left to right: Mamaw, Manner Russell, Manner Jackson)

My sweet boys!

Just a few pics of my sweet, sweet boys!

Snow Again?

Ok - Tripp has seen more snow in his six years of life than I saw in the first twenty years of my life. It was beautiful to see the snow on Friday and actually get to see it stay for a while. Tripp and Charlie enjoyed making a snowman and having a snowball fight. I did get Vaiden out for a few minutes to snap a few pictures. I even pushed away thoughts of all the germs and we made snow ice cream. Jake wasn't to sure about the snow. He liked running through it, but it was almost as tall as him.

8 Months Old!

Vaiden turned 8 months old on February 10. He is growing up so fast and is so smart! (ok I know I am partial) He is pulling up and wants to walk so badly, and he really thinks that he can. He just turns around and lets go and then falls down! Amazingly, he has 8 teeth! I guess he is just ready to eat steak and chicken. He is becoming a very happy baby; a nice change from the first 7 fussy months of his life. He loves to snuggle and rock and of course I am much obliged to do so!

Family Portraits

We had family portraits made this fall and it was well worth it to have a great Christmas card picture and awesome family portraits to hang in my kitchen. I am overwhelmed by the awesome blessing that I have in Charlie, Tripp, and Vaiden.
